Fancy delicious pancakes but no flour at home? Never mind, we will show you delicious recipes for pancakes without flour. From juicy and fruity to wonderfully chocolaty to hearty! I don’t know about you, but finding flour in my town is as tricky as finding lost hair ties. Because I didn’t want to bury my dream of an extensive breakfast with pancakes, I looked for a way to make pancakes without flour.
Luckily for me: I still had custard powder in the pantry, which, thanks to the starch it contains, is an excellent substitute for flour. We’ll tell you what else you need for the pancakes without flour and how you can easily modify the flourless pancake recipe!
Pancake Without Flour: Easy Recipe
Ingredients:
- Four eggs
- 120ml milk
- 3 tbsp cottage cheese
- Two packs of vanilla pudding powder
- One tablespoon of sugar
- One pinch of salt
- neutral vegetable oil
- big pan
Here’s How It Works:
Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix with a whisk until the dough is smooth. Put some oil in the pan.
Tip: Spread the oil evenly on the bottom of the pan with kitchen paper and let the pan get nice and hot. Thanks to the evenly thin layer of oil, the first pancake is also a success!
Use a spoon to pour the batter into the pan and fry the pancakes without flour until golden brown. Then stack on a plate. The flourless pancakes are ready!

Pancakes Without Flour: Delicious Toppings
You can spice up the juicy pancake breakfast as you wish. Those who like it fruity and fresh can top their flourless pancakes with berries. Blueberries, raspberries or strawberries taste great.
Copped nuts such as walnuts or hazelnuts provide crunch. If you lightly roast them in a pan and caramelize them with honey, you will achieve a particularly delicious taste.
Make Your Flourless Chocolate Pancakes
Do you love chocolate? Then top your mountain of pancakes with chocolate sauce or warmed Nutella cream. For an extra portion of chocolate, you can also add a tablespoon of baking cocoa to the pancake batter and use chocolate pudding powder instead of vanilla pudding powder.
Since the baking cocoa tastes bitter, add a little more sugar. Chocolate drops are also significant in flourless pancake batter. Banana slices go perfectly with this!
Savoury Flourless Pancakes: A Quick Meal
Looking for a quick lunch or dinner recipe? Pancakes without flour are also perfect for this. For the savoury pancakes you need:
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Three eggs (size M)
- 80 grams of cream cheese
- 50 g ground almonds
- 1 tsp salt
- 100ml milk
- 1 tbsp frozen herbs or 1 tsp dried herbs
- some pepper
Here’s How It Works:
Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix with a whisk until the dough is nice and smooth. If the batter is too thick, add a little more milk. A thin batter makes excellent, thin pancakes. Put oil in a pan and let it get hot. Fry the hearty herb pancakes without flour until golden brown.
Fill Savoury Pancakes Without Flour
The savoury flourless pancakes can be filled with anything you like, like a burrito. I love the combination of mushrooms, herb crème fraîche, a slice of cooked ham and some green salad.
To do this, I first fry the thickly sliced mushrooms together with a diced small onion in butter. I keep the pancakes warm in the oven during this time.
When the mushrooms are ready, I spread a layer of herb crème fraîche on the pancakes, place a slice of cooked ham on top and add the mushrooms and lettuce. Roll it all up and enjoy!
You can fill your savoury pancakes without flour but also vegetarian. You must use a creamy and crunchy component for the filling. Then the quick lunch or dinner will be delicious!
