5 Grandmother’s Recipes For Making Homemade Dry Shampoo

You only sometimes have time to wash your hair, and it’s well-known that the more you wash it, the more it becomes greasy. To space out care and avoid excess sebum, make your homemade dry shampoo from simple, inexpensive ingredients. Truck Mania explains how to make your care according to the color of your hair. You only have to apply it when your hair needs this practical and smelly treatment.

Talc

This powder is used to fight against sweat and dry out babies’ buttocks thanks to its strong absorbent power. The talc will also allow you to remove the excess sebum in your hair. To treat oily roots, apply talc directly to the scalp. You don’t have to put in large amounts because you’ll have difficulty removing the excess afterward. You can use a brush to place it precisely on the places to be treated.

Salt

If your hair is particularly oily, you absolutely must know this recipe! You will need a special ingredient found by a herbalist: orris root.

Here are the ingredients to have:

  1. Salt: 1 tbsp
  2. Orris root: 2 tbsp
  3. Corn flour: 1 tbsp
  4. Baking soda: 1 tbsp
  5. Bergamot essential oil: 10 drops

Mix all the ingredients and keep the preparation in an airtight container, away from humidity. Apply to your hair, leave to act, then brush vigorously.

Baking Soda And Cornstarch For Light Brown Hair

Here is a recipe specially adapted for light hair; you need the following ingredients to make it:

  1. Baking soda: 1 tbsp
  2. Maizena: 30g
  3. Essential oils: 5 to 10 drops (lavender, mint, lemon, etc.)

Mix the ingredients thoroughly, starting with the baking soda and cornstarch. Fill an airtight jar with the preparation. Choose a container large enough to dip your blush brush into. You can also use a salt shaker that will allow you to sprinkle the product directly on the areas to be treated.

Cocoa And Cornstarch For Brown Hair

If your hair is chestnut or brown; this cocoa-based recipe will be adapted to their shade.

  1. Unsweetened and defatted cocoa powder: 2 tbsp
  2. Cornstarch: 30g
  3. Essential oil: 5 to 10 drops (perfume according to your preferences)

As in the previous recipe, you must provide a container where you can dip your blush brush that does not let moisture in. This is the only way to preserve preparation without clumping into unusable hard pieces.

Mix the cocoa and the starch, and then add the essential oils. Stir well and apply to dry hair; leave for about 10 minutes, then run the brush through your hair to remove the remaining powder.

Cinnamon And Essential Oils For Red Hair

Does your hair look red? So try this homemade dry shampoo recipe that will blend in with the shade of your hair. You need to :

  1. Cinnamon powder: 2 tbsp
  2. Cornstarch: 30g
  3. Essential oils: between 5 and 10 drops (choose the scent you prefer)

First, mix the cornstarch and cinnamon, then add the essential oils you have chosen to flavor your preparation. Once all the ingredients are well mixed, please put them in an airtight jar to keep them from moisture.

If you want to apply dry shampoo using your blush brush, as Truc Mania advises, choose a large container to load it with powder. Apply to areas that produce more sebum, usually around the bangs and on the top of the head. You don’t need to shampoo all your hair; you must mostly treat the scalp.

To prevent powder from remaining, avoid adding too much. The trick is to dip the blush brush in the preparation and tap it on the edge of the container to keep only a little powder. This is enough to absorb the sebum that makes your hair tired and unkempt. Once you have carefully brushed your hair, it should regain its full shine, especially if you have opted for a recipe adapted to the color of your hair.
